ProTi Food Technology

ProTi Food Technology (食朴科技) is a China-based technology company that was founded in 2021. The company develops alternative protein food products using microalgae and microbial resources. The company utilizes gene engineering and high-throughput screening technology to acquire protein-rich strains of microalgae and yeast, and achieves industrialized production with fermentation technology. ProTi aims to provide new, ready-to-use protein ingredients to both food companies and consumers. The three co-founders consist of two experienced serial entrepreneurs in the field of microalgae in China and a professor of food science who specializes in microbial fermentation.

ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEUR

ZHANG Bingquan Founder

Zhang Bingquan, founder and general manager of the company, and member of the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Society, is a native in Taizhou, Zhejiang. He majored in food science and engineering, has has rich experience in R&D, sales, sales management, establishment and operation of industrial companies over the past 20 years. In 2013, he founded Binmei Bio Technology, and in 2022, he founded ProTi Food Tech and has served as the chairman of the board of directors.

YU Jianzhong Co-Founder

Yu Jianzhong, native of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, majored in biotechnology, pharmaceutical chemistry, and food engineering. Yu received his PhD from the Ocean University of China and postdoctoral fellowship from South China University of Technology. He has been engaged in the development of microalgae technology and project management in a number of well-known enterprises, and is currently serving as the general manager of ProTi Food Tech.
